I had a nice exchange with Lorraine yesterday, she has a series of PDF catalogues that has greater selection than on the website. I ordered nearly 30 samples, paid 200usd to send to me in Canada. She couldn't have been more friendly.
I'll have the samples in 2 weeks and will post back here then with findings/thoughts.
The samples were really quite nice, there was a good variety of material thickness, depth and quality. A lot of them had a reddish tinge in there according to my designer which gave them a bit of a dated look which is not what I'm wanting for my work.....
I had two that I really enjoyed - one was a Oak Emperor Grey T&G hardwood, and Tawn Stone Grey.
I really think the value proposition in here is with the hardwoods, the engineered floors were OK in quality.. The $$ in this deal is the shipping from China, so why not splurge a bit and get the real wood?
What I'm not sure on yet is the transition pieces, stairs, etc. I'm up in the air about selecting one of these for my current project, or just doing a really nice Shaw LVT throughout.
I just ordered my first kitchen from China, going to write Artem about it and see if I can do a guest post about my experience once it arrives in 30-60 days.
Will, don't leave us Canucks hanging. Did you decide on the flooring? Did your kitchens arrive? What about countertops? Give us the details!
I just ordered 24 samples pieces from Greenvills and they should arrive in a week. I'm 90% sure I'll be ordering from them, they supply places like Metropolitan floors, Kentwood, and other massive flooring suppliers in Canada. You can use importyeti to track all the seacan shipments to see who buys from Greenvills
Also Will, if you're doing real hardwood any carpenter could make you the proper transition pieces. And while the cost of hardwood might be a deal, the wood has to go through some crazy climate changes and may result in some warped boards by the time it makes it to Canada. Hard to say how it would turn out but i am curious to see what you chose.
Artem, I think I'm getting a very high installation quote here in Nashville, TN. $42,000 to pull up the old floors and install the new ones on 4200 square feet. Do you think your installation guy would talk to me about how to find a competent installer who isn't going to rip me off? I'd be happy to pay him for his time.
Also, can you send me your product sheet for what you the flooring you ordered that shows all specs and finish? I just emailed Lorraine and I'm trying to get the exact same product.
You're getting retail price. I'd go stand outside some wholesale floor installer place and find the guys that speak spanish, not the guys you find on the internet or the phone book.
I'm looking to redo my basement flooring. Do you know any suppliers for vinyl flooring? This supplier only has engineered hardwood. Do you recommend using that for basement?
I found a bunch of guys for granite but it doesnt look like it would be worth it unless you're doing high volume because the seacan shipping costs are fixed for a full or 10% full seacan

Did it end up arriving? I'm in Canada as well, so quite curious to your experience with Chinese suppliers :-)

truer words have rarely been said
Looks great! What grade do you select? Looks like A or AB? Also, was it engineered or real wood?
Did you place order on alibaba or direct?
Hi Artem
I'm looking to redo my basement flooring. Do you know any suppliers for vinyl flooring? This supplier only has engineered hardwood. Do you recommend using that for basement?
Thank you very much!
I am talking to someone in india for this let me know if you are looking for specific type of samples
For granite
Do you know if they handle granite as well?
There's other suppliers, look for verified ones that have been around for a while.
If you find someone with granite, please message or reply here. Thanks.

Did you do granite as well the same way ? Also who handles customs and shipping the seller or is it also through alibaba?
they handle it all.
