Importing Bi Folding Doors/Windows From China
Bifold doors for my ADU in the US quote roughly: $12,500 x 2 = $25,000 plus 10% tax = $27,500 if purchased in the US.
Bifold doors imported directly from China: $2,100 x 2 = $4200, roughly $5,500 all in with shipping and duties if just doors.
I had a murphy bed, so my all-in was a bit more based on the order.
$22,000 savings just on doors ordering direct from the manufacturer CBMMart listed on Alibaba, the amazon of Chinese manufacturers.

Full Disclosure: This worked well for me; it doesn’t mean it’ll work well for you, but I’ll be ordering from them again.
The production time that was quoted to me from china is 25-30 days.
Shipping time for door-to-door is 35-40 days. Total about 10 weeks.
US Lead Time quoted to me was 18-24 weeks!!!
I didn’t keep exact track of time, but the doors came in about two months.
I have not ordered windows from them, but they also do windows and cabinets.
So far, I’m VERY happy with the doors w/ the german Hopo hardware.

The custom height of 91" likely dinged you on both quotes. Probably could've gotten better pricing and quicker delivery on both quotes if gone with stock height of 80" or 96" unless that was a number they gave you? Adjusting RO on windows to fit stock sizes on both new and old remodels we save at least 25% over custom sized.
Thank you for all the content you provide! Arten I’ve been thinking about ordering doors from a manufacturer in China I am having difficulty finding a reliable shipper. The ones that have been verified and been in business for a long time and have good ratings but I see many also have bad reviews which makes worry. Could you possibly share which freight company or shipper you used for your windows and floors? Thank you in advance and if you can’t it’s understandable.
